Acid Bridge
On Lebanon Road just outside of Collinsville, Illinois stands the infamous Acid Bridge. Known to be a paranormal hotspot, the urban legends surrounding the bridge are as varied as one’s own imagination.
The most commonly retold story is about the death of a teenager: One night, a group of teenagers were partying on the bridge. One of them produced a gun and started shooting. A bullet ricocheted, striking one of the teenagers in the head and killing him. The spirit of the teenager is believed to be just one of many that now haunt the bridge.
While walking back to my truck after filming a video on Acid Bridge, I noticed the bullet holes in the guard rail, and remembered the story of the teenager. Is this confirmation of the urban legend. Most urban legends do in fact have some foundation in actual events.
